"Thanks to Marie I can:
- Stand in the middle of the room and put on my pants.
- Wear shoes with laces as I’m not afraid when I have to bend over to tie them.
- Trim my own toenails.
- Buy clothes in the regular section and not go to the “Big and Tall” section. They have a lot better selection and usually better prices.
- Play better golf, (I’ve dropped 5 strokes from my handicap).
- I drive the ball farther (10 to 20 yards per club) because I can turn now.
- I don’t “wear out” as fast.
- I can climb to the top of the tee boxes without being out of breath, (several of them are pretty high).
- Climb up and down the stairs at the house while carrying laundered clothes.
- Fit in an airplane seat, probably still won’t fly though.
- Get in and out of a car easily.
- Cross my legs and rest one over the other’s knee.
- Keep my shirts cleaner as every piece of food dropped on the way to my mouth does not automatically end up on my shirt because my belly is sticking out.
- Park anywhere in the parking lot and not worry about being able to walk to the store.
- Take the stairs at Cabela’s.
- Tuck my shirt into my pants and not be ashamed of my belly sticking out.
- Wear socks as they are easy to put on now.”
